Новогодние гуляния — любимые зимние праздники во многих странах.

National Hugging Day is an annual event dedicated to hugging. It was created by Kevin Zaborney  and occurs annually on January 21st. Groundhog Day is a popular American tradition observed in the United States and Canada on February 2nd. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day sees its shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat to its den and winter will persist for six more weeks; but if it does not see its shadow because of cloudiness, spring will arrive early.

Henley Royal Regatta (or Henley Regatta, its original name pre-dating Royal patronage) is a rowing event held annually on the River Thames by the town of Henley-on-Thames, England. It was established on 26 March 1839. It differs from the three other regattas rowed over approximately the same course. The regatta lasts for five days (Wednesday to Sunday) ending on the first weekend in July.

Тот самый День Дурака, который шутливо отмечают уже в мире. Изначально его отмечали по-другому: царствовал феодальный строй и только раз в году слуги могли стать хозяевами и наоборот. Прошли века, традиции менялись, теперь в 1 апреля принято разыгрывать и шутить.

День святого Джорджа

У Англии тоже есть свой святой покровитель. Его именем зовется праздник – Джордж. Считается, он был рыцарем, убившим в древние века дракона, ставшего настоящим бичом Англии. Можно сказать, Св.Патрик, только английский. Люди прикрепляют к одежде красную розу как символ Англии.  Подаются только блюда традиционной кухни – ростбиф, пудинг, поют английские песни.
